The AirDog® II-5G DF-220 includes a 5/8” High Flow suction tube to accommodate the high flows of this system. To install, it is necessary to either drop the fuel tank or to lift the truck bed
The AirDog II 5G 220GPH A7SABC512 Duramax Lift Pump Air/Fuel Separation system, or Fuel Preporator, is a top recommended upgrade for your aggressively modified 2001-2010 Chevy/GMC Duramax diesel. The fuel system on your Duramax diesel is one of the most important systems when it comes to performance and reliability. This high flow and low pressure pump is preset to 8-10psi right out of the box. The II-5G features a fully adjustable (7-55psi) integrated diaphragm pressure regulator. This regulator offers more consistent fuel pressure and allows for higher flow rates at pressure. It can also be boost compensated to battle any pressure drops under open throttle (boost compensation kits sold seperately).
The II-5G DF-220 Duramax lift pump mounts to the inner frame rail using the supplied sandwich plate mounting system. The suction/fuel supply sides hook directly up to the 5/8″ draw straw installed in the tank. The pressure side feeds the injection pump through a direct connection to the 1/2″ factory feed line on the frame. The air/vapor return is sent back to the tank through the factory 1/2” suction line once the module is modified. Due to the fact the Duramax does not have a factory lift pump, these trucks usually see the most benefit from an AirDog lift pump fuel system. (see How It Works).
