This kit requires the installation of a supplied Fuel Module Upgrade Kit in the fuel tank.

The AirDog II-5G 165 GPH A7SABD540 lift pump, or Fuel Preporator, is a must have upgrade for your Dodge Ram 1989-1993 12V 5.9L Cummins. The fuel system on a Cummins 12V diesel truck is the heart of the vehicle’s performance and reliability. This low pressure (preset at 10-13psi) Cummins lift pump mounts to the inner frame rail using the supplied sandwich plate mounting system. The suction/fuel supply side connects to the supplied Fuel Module Upgrade Kit installed in the tank. The pressure side connects directly to the side of the VE-44 injection pump bypassing the factory block mounted mechanical pump and fuel filter housing.  This pump can be used with a fuel tank sump (DRX09SMP) to solve the Dodge 1/4 tank suction issue.

The II-5G Cummins fuel pump features a fully adjustable (7-55psi) integrated diaphragm pressure regulator. This regulator offers more consistent fuel pressure and allows for higher flow rates at pressure.  It can also be boost compensated to battle any pressure drops under open throttle (boost compensation kits sold seperately). The AirDog 5G also includes an updated 12 gauge wiring harness with Metri-Pack 280 connectors, which allows for higher current flow without creating excessive heat.

The AirDog 2 5G DF-165 will solve infamous P0087 & P1093 low fuel rail pressure codes. This positive supply of purified fuel being fed to your injection pump will also add performance, throttle response, and longevity to your vehicle. Due to extra stress on your fuel system from either high mileage and/or additional performance modifications, like a tuner or larger injectors, your injection pump can become weak over time resulting in a drop of performance, reliability, and fuel economy. The supplied water separator (WS100) and fuel filter (FF100-2), that mount to the pump, filter your fuel down to a 2 micron rating which surpasses the stock fuel filters filtration capability.
